When should I place my order?

Minimum 1-2 weeks notice for standard menu items. Minimum 2-3 weeks for custom orders. Minimum 1+ month notice for wedding cake orders. Orders will be acceptable based on availability. Since we are a small business, we only accept a limited amount of orders per week to ensure quality of work. We will try our best to accommodate short notice requests based on availability. 

How do I place an order?

or through the inquiry form on our website's Contact page. Feel free to browse our standard Menu selection & Flavour List and get in touch with us to customize your order as needed! We're happy to work with your specific design and/or dietary needs. 

What’s your payment policy?

Payment should be made by etransfer when placing an order. To confirm your order we require a minimum 50% payment to be made. The remaining amount is due 2 DAYS PRIOR to pick up/delivery. Your order will only be confirmed once the minimum deposit is received. You can choose to make a full payment at the time of ordering if you prefer to do so. 

What’s your cancellation policy?

We understand that things can happen & your plans may change. We will try our best to assist you in making changes to your order is possible. Please provide a minimum of 7 days notice of cancellation to receive a refund. Orders cancelled past the 7 day policy may not be eligible for a refund. In case of an emergency that causes change in plans, if we did not start on our order yet, we will provide credit for a future order. We reserve the right to a 20% cancellation fee for all custom orders cancelled at anytime once the deposit is made to cover costs of custom pre-work & supplies.

What are your tips/suggestions for transporting a cake safely?

Pick up & carry your cake box from the bottom only. Make sure your cake is level at all times during transport, refrigeration & display. Transport your cake in an air-conditioned car, the best place to put it is the foot well of the passenger seat as this surface is flat, temperature controlled, will avoid any movement & is within your eye sight while driving. Please ensure to have the air conditioner running & drive slower than usual to avoid any sudden braking & sharp turning that may cause the cake to tilt, shift or fall over. 

Do you offer Gluten-Free, Egg-Free, Dairy-Free, Nut-Free options?

Yes, we do offer eggless, vegan, gluten FRIENDLY, and nut FRIENDLY items, but they are made in a kitchen that has gluten, dairy and nut products, so there’s always the risk that cross-contamination may occur. We cannot be held responsible for allergic outbreaks. Please ensure to mention any allergies & dietary restrictions when placing an order.

Can you deliver & set up my cake/treat table? 

Delivery is available for a fee on orders over $100. Deliveries within the Greater Vancouver area start at $15 and up. The delivery fee will be assessed when placing your order and cost will vary based on the item(s) ordered and delivery location. We cannot leave perishable items unattended, so please make arrangements to have your order received by an individual at the delivery location. 

Do you have a store location?

Currently we are an online based business where everything's made on an order basis in our home bakery. Pick up is located near Ironwood Mall area in Richmond, BC. Exact pick up address will be provided on the invoice when placing an order, due to privacy reasons. 

Returns/Refunds/Exchanges

Due to the perishable nature of our products and being unable to control how our products are transported and stored once they leave our shop, The Mistry Baker does not accept returns, provide refunds or exchanges.

What is the best way to store a cake?

Once picked up or delivered, please refrigerate your cake. Take the cake out of the fridge 1-2 hours before serving at room temperature in a cool, dry space for the best flavour and consistency. Keep out of direct sunlight. Ensure to remove all decorations before cutting & serving the cake.

Can you copy a design exactly?

At The Mistry Baker, we try to follow directions & specifications provided by the customer to the best of our ability. However, we do not copy designs exactly and take pride in our creativity to ensure that every product that leaves the shop is unique and reflects our highest standards. The Mistry Baker cannot guarantee 100% accuracy in regards to colour matching, proportions, or composition.

What happens if I cannot pick up my order?

All orders must be picked up on the date selected when placing your order. If, for some reason, you are unable to pick up your order on your pick-up date, please contact us at via phone (provided on your invoice) or email to discuss options. Orders not picked up on their pick up date are not eligible for a refund and a new order will need to be placed for a new pick up date. Please note that alternate pick up requests are not guaranteed.
